GT WORLD CHALLENGE -Boutsen VDS heads to Misano for Sprint Cup Round 2
The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS heads to Misano this weekend for the fifth round of the season and the second event of the Sprint Cup campaign.
Once again, we will field our two Porsche 911 GT3 R entries. Morris Schuring and Dorian Boccolacci will share the #2 car, while Robin Knutsson and Gilles Magnus will team up aboard the #10 Porsche.
The weekend begins with Free Practice sessions on Thursday and Friday before qualifying sets the grid for the two one-hour Sprint races, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
The opening Sprint Cup round at Brands Hatch rewarded the #2 crew with an excellent second-place finish, capping off a strong and competitive weekend.
For the #10 crew, however, the weekend proved far more frustrating. An unfortunate retirement (DNF) in the opening race prevented the car from taking the start of Race 2 (DNS), denying the team the opportunity to convert its pace into a result.
As we arrive in Misano, our goal is to build on the momentum of the #2 while hoping that fortune finally smiles on the #10. After proving, particularly during the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, that it has the pace to fight at the front, the entire team is determined to turn that potential into the result it deserves.
Everything is now in place for another intense Sprint weekend on Italy’s Adriatic coast. More than ever, we are determined to showcase our full potential and proudly represent the Boutsen VDS colours, with one extra source of motivation this weekend: racing in memory of Marc VDS.
