GTWC – Pole & podium at Zandvoort this Saturday
We kicked off our Saturday at Zandvoort in the best possible way, with a fantastic pole position secured by Morris Schuring behind the wheel of our #2 Porsche. An even more special achievement for our Dutch driver, who claimed pole position on home soil.
Competing in the Pro Cup alongside Dorian Boccolacci, our #2 therefore started the first Sprint race of the weekend from pole. In the Gold Cup, Robin Knutsson put our #10 Porsche in fourth place in class, and 22nd overall.
After such a promising morning, it was time for the race, with plenty of action once again both on track and in the pit lane. Our mechanic crew delivered some great pit stops, with fast and precise work to support both of our crews throughout the race.
After 60 minutes of racing, our #2 eventually secured a strong second place in the Pro Cup. Starting from pole, Morris Schuring took the opening stint before handing the wheel over to Dorian Boccolacci, who crossed the finish line to finally bring them another podium in this GT World Challenge Europe season!
Meanwhile, Robin Knutsson and Gilles Magnus also put together a solid race in the #10, finishing fourth in the Gold Cup and 12th overall. Encouraging results that also set the stage for another strong race tomorrow, provided we can secure a good qualifying position.
A home pole, a Pro Cup podium and a fourth-place finish in the Gold Cup: we leave this first Sprint race with plenty of reasons to be happy. But the weekend isn’t over yet! We will be back on track tomorrow for the second and final race of the weekend at Zandvoort. Another opportunity, hopefully, to see both of our crews fighting for the podium!
