GTwc – First Gold Cup Victory!

What a way to kick off our race weekend at Magny-Cours! After an intense opening race, we came away with a fantastic Gold Cup victory thanks to our #10 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Robin Knutsson and Gilles Magnus.

Having secured the Gold Cup pole position in qualifying, Robin and Gilles never looked back. They delivered a flawless race from lights to flag, controlling their pace throughout the race to claim their first Gold Cup win of the season while crossing the finish line in an excellent eighth place overall. A well-deserved reward for our drivers and for the entire team, whose hard work has continued relentlessly since the start of the season.

Our #2 Porsche 911 GT3 R also gave us plenty to cheer about. After a difficult qualifying session left Alessio Picariello and Dorian Boccolacci starting from 22nd on the grid, the duo produced an impressive comeback drive. Thanks to strong race pace, several determined overtakes and a perfectly executed pit stop by our crew, they gained 13 positions to finish ninth overall. A performance that highlights the car’s potential and gives us plenty of confidence heading into today’s action.

That first race gave us real momentum going into this morning’s qualifying session. Unfortunately, both of our cars were held up by traffic during their flying laps, leaving us with less-than-ideal starting positions for this afternoon’s race. Our Pro entry will line up in 10th place, while our Gold Cup car will start 17th overall, fifth in class.

With overtaking always a challenge around Magny-Cours, strategy and pit stops could once again make the difference. We know how crucial the mandatory pit stop can be, and we’ll be giving everything we have to help both crews fight their way further up the order in this afternoon’s race.
