GTWC Misano: Focus on Qualifying and Race 1 This Weekend
Today, we head into the business end of the weekend at Misano for the second Sprint round of the GT World Challenge season. After two days of intensive work, the team is ready to take on the challenge with our two Porsche 911 GT3 R entries.
The Free Practice sessions were far from straightforward. The exceptionally high temperatures at the Italian circuit made car setup particularly challenging, with both cars heavily affected by the heat. Despite these demanding conditions, our engineers and mechanics worked tirelessly to analyze the data collected and unlock more performance from both Porsche 911 GT3 R ahead of the first qualifying session.
Qualifying gets underway at 13:05
Qualifying starts at 13:05 and will be crucial on a circuit like Misano, where track position can play a decisive role. With the field often separated by only a few hundredths of a second, every lap will count.
For today’s qualifying session:
- Porsche 911 GT3 R #2: Morris Schuring will take the wheel.
- Porsche 911 GT3 R #10: Gilles Magnus will be aiming to secure the best possible starting position, both in the Gold Cup category and overall.
Race 1 starts at 20:30
The first race of the weekend gets underway at 20:30, with cooler evening temperatures expected to provide more favorable racing conditions.
Sharing driving duties will be:
- Porsche 911 GT3 R #2: Dorian Boccolacci and Morris Schuring
- Porsche 911 GT3 R #10: Robin Knutsson and Gilles Magnus
The goal is to turn the hard work put in throughout the weekend into a strong result in one of the most competitive GT racing championships, where every detail can make the difference.
