SPA 24H PROLOGUE – SESSION RESULTS
The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue has now come to an end for our two Porsche 911 GT3 R entries competing in the GT World Challenge Europe! Two intense days of testing, marked by constantly changing weather conditions, allowed our crews to complete valuable mileage ahead of the big Belgian week taking place at the end of June. 🌧️☀️
Yesterday, Tuesday May 19th, the first two sessions took place under cloudy skies with intermittent rain showers, providing ideal conditions to work on both slick and wet tyres.
The #2 Porsche driven by Alessio Picariello, Dorian Boccolacci and Morris Schuring immediately showed strong pace, finishing P4 overall in the opening session before topping the timesheets in Session 2 with an impressive P1 overall.
On the #10 Porsche entered in the Gold Cup category, Robin Knutsson, Gilles Magnus and Alessandro Ghiretti also delivered a very strong start to the Prologue:
• P2 in Gold Cup (P19 overall) in Session 1
• P1 in Gold Cup (P13 overall) in Session 2
Today, Wednesday, conditions became even more challenging with unstable weather and heavy rain throughout most of the day. It was only around 3 PM that the track finally began to dry under a few brighter spells, before the rain returned once again to shake things up.
In these tricky morning conditions, the #2 Porsche continued its testing programme with several setup evaluations and difficult running sessions due to the lack of a properly dry track. The car finished Session 3 in P50 overall.
Meanwhile, the #10 Porsche once again showed strong pace in the Gold Cup category with a P3 Gold Cup result (P11 overall) during the third session.
Finally, during the fourth and final session of the Prologue:
• #2: P18 overall
• #10: P3 Gold Cup (P25 overall)
A productive Prologue with solid foundations ahead of Monza on May 30th and 31st. We now look forward to this final endurance round before heading into the legendary CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa week starting on June 24th! 🔥
