Barcelona: a turbulent Sprint finale for our crews
Our final Sprint weekend of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season came to an end this Sunday in Barcelona, after a particularly eventful weekend.
On Saturday, both of our Porsche 911 GT3 Rs took to the track for the first qualifying session. Our #2, with Dorian Boccolacci and Sven Müller behind the wheel, qualified in P6, while our #10 of Gilles Magnus and Robin Knutsson started from P29.
In Race 1, our #2 showed strong pace and finished in P6, with victory slipping away after a penalty, while our #10 fought hard to take P5 in the Gold Cup, finishing P19 overall.
On Sunday, the weather conditions heavily disrupted the schedule. On-track activities were suspended and the timetable had to be completely reworked. The second qualifying session could ultimately not take place, with the Race 2 grid therefore set based on the best FP2 times: P8 for our #2 and P21 for our #10.
After several hours of waiting, the second race finally got underway in the afternoon. Our #10 of Gilles Magnus and Robin Knutsson crossed the finish line in P29 overall and P5 in the Gold Cup. Meanwhile, our #2 of Dorian Boccolacci and Sven Müller was unfortunately forced to retire after a technical failure, bringing their race to an early end.
A frustrating way to close out our final Sprint weekend, especially as both of our Porsches had shown strong potential throughout the event. Despite the difficult ending, we can be proud of the work achieved by the whole team and of what we accomplished throughout this Sprint season.
The Sprint Cup is now behind us. Next stop: Portimão, for the final Endurance round of the season!
