GTWC – A Promising First Day in Barcelona
Our final Sprint weekend of the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season is officially underway in Barcelona, with two Free Practice sessions on the schedule this Friday.
This first day gave us the opportunity to run in very different conditions, with a dry track for FP1 before rain arrived for the second session. Despite the changing conditions, both of our Porsche 911 GT3 Rs showed promising pace.
In Pro Cup, our #2 with Dorian Boccolacci and Sven Müller put in a strong performance, finishing P7 in FP1 before improving to P5 in FP2.
Over in Gold Cup, Gilles Magnus and Robin Knutsson brought our #10 home in P12 in the first session, before putting together a fantastic FP2. Our Porsche set the fastest time of the session, both overall and in the Gold Cup.
A very positive way to end our first day of running and head into Saturday with confidence. Now, it’s time to carry this momentum into qualifying before taking on the final two Sprint races of the season.
Join us tomorrow for the first qualifying session and the opening race, either trackside at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya or online via the GT World Challenge Europe YouTube channel!
